Title
2 Programs
2003-2004
Part
A
Title
II, Part A consists of two programs. The first program is
Class Size Reduction. We have a first grade teacher that
is being paid by these funds. This allows the students in
this grade to have classes with a smaller amount of students
than under normal circumstances.
The
second part of Title II, Part A is a professional development
component. It provides training and workshops in the areas
of mathematics, science, technology and other core curriculums.
These activities are planned and coordinated in conjunction
with activities planned through the professional development
committee and the Idea-B in-service committee (CSPD).
Roland
Public Schools have opted to transfer $18,327.00 to Title
I. These funds provide reading and math instruction in a
school wide setting.
Part
D
Title
II, Part D is a federal technology grant that is distributed
by the Oklahoma State Department of Education. We use this
money to purchase six computers and technology apparatus.
Part of the money is used for in-service activities in the
technology curriculum area. The focus is for innovative
educational programs in the technology field. The technology
will provide students with educational opportunities to
prepare them for adult life both in school and out.
