MANDATORY CLOSURE OF SCHOOL BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES

Parents and Students--

We are heartbroken over the events of this past month with the closure of the school for the remainder of the school year and actually beyond into the summer months (as far as athletics and preparing for the fall are concerned).  We understand this is time in our students' lives that they can never recoup. We absolutely hate this for them as well as our teachers and administrators.  But, with that being said, we must remind our community of what the State Department of Education is requiring of us as a district:

MANDATORY CLOSURE OF SCHOOL BUILDINGS AND FACILITIES FOR THE 2019- 20 SCHOOL YEAR--On March 25, the State Board of Education amended its first order to direct all accredited public schools to suspend all in-person and extracurricular activities and close buildings and facilities for the remainder of the school year. While school buildings will remain closed for the remainder of the year for general student and personnel attendance, exceptions include staff providing nutrition services, facilitating or supporting required delivery of distance learning and essential core services. Essential core services include governance, human resources, billing, maintenance and continuity.

Unfortunately, if community members are found using the facilities, we will have to ask them to leave.  This is a trying time for us all to say the least.  Our hopes and prayers are for this virus and the ramifications of it are gone quickly!  Thank you for your help in this matter and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to give us a call.  Stay safe and let us know if there is anything we can do to help you.
