Dear Parents,

Tomorrow, Monday, August 18th, is Independence Day for all Lower Elementary students! This means that beginning tomorrow, students will begin walking to their classrooms on their own, supported by our wonderful teachers and staff.

To ensure both safety and a smooth start to the day, adult staff members will be stationed at each entrance door, ready to welcome and assist every student. For this reason, parents will no longer walk students to their classrooms.

We want you to know how much we value and appreciate your partnership and involvement. This transition is simply part of helping our students grow in independence while also keeping arrival safe and orderly for everyone.

Thank you for trusting us with your children—we are excited to see them shine as they take this next step!

Roland Public Schools is proud to recognize two outstanding accomplishments in our cheer program.

Coach Richards has been named the Oklahoma Coaches Association Region 3 Cheer Coach of the Year, a well-deserved honor that reflects her dedication and leadership.

We also congratulate Madi Whisenant, who was selected as an All-State Cheerleader and represented the East team during last night’s All-State Football Game.

We are proud of both Coach Richards and Madi for representing Roland with excellence.

🏀 Last night at the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State Basketball Games, Coach Eddie Lewis was recognized with the 800 Victory Award—an incredible honor marking 800 career wins, all right here at Roland Schools. What a legacy!

As we gear up for the new school year, we want to remind families that all students must have a current, up-to-date immunization record OR a valid exemption letter on file with their school before attending class.

✅ This is not a school district policy—it is Oklahoma state law.
📆 Don’t wait until the first day! Beat the back-to-school rush by checking with your child’s doctor or the health department today.

All Roland school offices will be open Monday from 8 AM to 3 PM to assist with enrollment.
