Dear Parents
The Scholastic Book Fair is almost here! This event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. As always, all purchases benefit our library.
Here’s what you need to know about the fair, which will take place from March 27-31 at the Roland Elementary Library. I will send home a book fair flyer that highlights the wide variety of books that will be available at the fair, plus so much more!
● Our book fair offers a cash-free payment option called eWallet. It’s a convenient digital account that your child can use for shopping at our fair. Grandparents, friends, and others can contribute, too! We also accept cash, credit cards, and checks.
● Students can shop any day from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
● BOOKS & BREAKFAST! Parents/grandparents are invited to shop at the fair on Monday, March 27th. We invite you to come enjoy a grab-n-go breakfast in the upper elementary with your child then come to the library to shop!
● If you can’t make it to the fair, shop online at our school’s virtual book fair. All orders ship directly to your home and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.
Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping.

Roland is hiring !

Congratulations to Mr. Brant for winning RPS's February step challenge! He had a whopping 514,620 steps in 28 days. That total won him bragging rights for the month and the grand prize. Way to go, Mr. Brant!

Roland Elementary 3rd grade students, School Resource Officer CJ McGee and Joy all enjoyed the reading of the book, Aero and Officer Mike. After the reading, Officer McGee and Joy were able to do tricks for the students. She got to show them all how she can track scents, find items that are hidden and show how well she can follow commands. As you can tell by the students' and Joy's smiles, they all had a great time!

Mrs. Karissa Crowder's High School FCCLA group visited our Pre-K 3 and 4-year-old classes as well as our kindergarten classes for their monthly "Big/Small" project. Our elementary students love it when the "big kids" come over to do crafts and read. As you can tell, they had a blast!

Roland High School would like to congratulate Brandie Reese and Wolfgang Sharp on receiving The K-9 Joy Citizenship Award and Student of the Month for the month of February.

Due to our High School boys basketball team earning their way to state and the scheduling of the OSSAA state games, we have made the decision to move school to a virtual platform on Thursday, March 9, and no school on Friday, March 10. This will allow our staff, families and fans to attend the games and cheer on our Rangers. Please come to OKC and cheer our boys all the way to the State Championship! Go Rangers!!

Roland Middle School would like to congratulate Emmaline Fouts and Matthew Hosmer on receiving The K-9 Joy Citizenship Award for the month of February.

Roland Middle School would like to congratulate our 8th grade Students of the Month for February, Kylee Hodges and Parker Sheffield.

Roland Middle School would like to congratulate our 7th grade Students of the Month for February, Sadie Daws and Austin Nolan.

Here are a few more pictures of our storybook character parade. This week was Read Across America Week, and our students love to read and share their favorite stories.

Roland Middle School would like to congratulate our 6th grade Students of the Month for February, Paul Sullivan and Phairah Hess.

Our fabulous librarian, Mrs. Roedenbeck, put together a parade of literary characters today at the elementary schools. Our students dressed up as their favorite story characters, and we love their imagination and creativity!

Roland Middle School would also like to congratulate the members of Art Club who won special awards with their Mardi Gras shoebox float designs including 1st & 2nd Place Presentation (overall winners), 1st-3rd Place Mayor's Cup (runner-ups), Best Theme and Most Colorful.

Roland Middle School really enjoyed the Mardi Gras Parade that the Art Club had with their shoebox floats. It was really neat getting to see what our students created and we can't wait to see what they are working on next!

Pre-enrollment for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year will begin Monday 3/6/23.

This past week the art classes at Roland Middle School worked hard creating their Mardi Gras shoebox floats for their parade. We love that Ms. Roberts is always finding ways to let her students creativity shine!
